To invite friends in Scam With Your Friends, host an online session and share the invitation produced by the game's multiplayer interface. The current Join by code flow accepts Steam invite links, and lobbies support one to eight players.
Use the code or link displayed for the actual session. No universal invitation string or fixed sequence of every hosting-menu button is established here. Follow the labels visible in the current build, and avoid substituting a Discord invitation or an old playtest access invitation for a lobby invitation.
Get everyone ready before sharing the invitation
Each friend needs access to the Steam version of Scam With Your Friends. The relevant game is Steam app 4954910, developed by JakeHub and Metater and published by Jatater Worldwide. A same-title listing from another publisher does not establish cross-play with this release.
Broadband internet is required. Make sure the people joining are using the same current game version before troubleshooting the invitation itself. Recent updates added My version first sorting to public lobbies, which helps distinguish build compatibility from the question of who owns the game.
Choose the session visibility offered by the hosting interface for the group you want to assemble. Gameplay has shown private matches and invite-only hosting. The exact present-day hosting controls can change during Early Access, so use the options actually displayed instead of searching for a copied menu path.

Share the invitation for your hosted session
- Open the multiplayer hosting flow and create the session with the visibility options shown in your current build.
- Locate the session's invitation or code in the current interface.
- Copy the full invitation the game provides and send it to the friend you want to join.
- Have the joining player open Join by code and use the supplied code or Steam invite link.
- Confirm that the friend appears in the intended session before beginning the shared workday.
The supported Steam-link input is a current feature. You do not need to invent a conversion from a Steam invitation URL to a shorter number. If you have copied a link, use the complete link supplied for that session.
An invitation connects a player to a particular game session. It does not grant ownership, remove a full-lobby limit, or establish that another game with the same title can join. Keep those prerequisites separate when someone receives an invitation but still cannot enter.
Respect the eight-player lobby limit
The game supports lobbies of one to eight players, with limits enforced. Check how many players have already joined and ask the host to confirm that the room can accept another person.
A solo player can host a session without needing seven other players. Likewise, an old playtest statement about inviting three friends describes access to that test rather than the current maximum lobby size.
An invitation does not allow the group to exceed eight players. If joining fails, check the current player count and the exact error message, then ask the host to confirm that the room can accept another player.
Interpret invitation and loading warnings
An invalid-code warning: Hotfix 2 added clearer invalid-code feedback. Check that the friend received the full code or Steam invite link for your intended session. Do not paste the Jatater Worldwide Discord address into the game: that address opens a community, not a lobby.
A voice-readiness warning: Launch fixes added a warning before hosting or joining when higher-quality voices are not ready, with choices to wait or continue. Read that as a voice-preparation warning rather than proof that your invitation is invalid. Non-English players are advised to let Qwen3 finish downloading on the main menu for higher-quality text-to-speech.
A version mismatch or an unexpected lobby: Confirm the game build and check that you shared the session you meant to host. The public browser's version sorting and filters are separate from a private invitation, but both can help avoid connecting to the wrong situation.
Keep invitation problems separate from AI problems
Once your friend is in the office, the invitation has done its job. An AI caller failing to answer, Qwen3 voice loading, or a microphone not being recognized belongs to a different part of the game.
Updates improved multiplayer reliability during temporary Steam network congestion, but that change does not guarantee every connection will succeed. When asking for help, record whether the problem happened while creating the session, entering the invitation, joining, or after reaching the office. Include the exact status message so a failed invitation is not confused with a later voice or AI-service warning.
